Best Pressure Points to Treat Headaches

“Pay attention. Pay attention to the points I’m pressing. I need you to do this for me when I’m

done. Are you hearing me?”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” He could hear her, nagging at him, while his head fucking exploded. Like

drilling holes in the back of his neck with her fingers was going to . . .

The pain eased from hot, stabbing knives to a dull misery.

And when she took his hand, pressing,

pressing on the web between his thumb and forefinger,

the misery downshifted to annoying ache.

Experiencing the pain and discomfort of a headache is incredibly common. If you’re looking for a more natural way to treat your headache, you may want to think about acupressure and pressure points.

Pressure points are parts of the body believed to be extra sensitive, able to stimulate relief in the body. Practitioners of reflexology, a discipline of Chinese medicine, believe that touching pressure points in a certain way can:

  • improve your health
  • ease pain
  • restore balance in the body

Yoga vs. Gym

She opened the refrigerator, got out the water. “Either. But thanks.
I’m going over to the gym. I want some cardio.
I assume that’s where Quinn is?”
“Noises were made. Why don’t you stick with the Gumby routine?”
“It’s not what I’m after. Yoga relaxes me. I need to pump.”

Which Is Really a Workout?

“Is yoga really a workout?” When I typed that into Google I was pretty astonished at the contrast of dead set opinions and recommendations that are floating around out there.

Life After Sexual Assault

"So I didn't say anything, because there was nothing to say and no one to say it to. He raped me twice more over the next month, before I got the nerve to run away again. Of course, they caught me. Maybe I'd wanted them to that time. I stayed in the home until I was eighteen. And when I got out, I knew no one was ever going to have that kind of control over me again. No one was ever going to make me feel like I was nothing ever again."
Unsure what to do, Colt reached up tentatively to brush a tear from her cheek. "You made your life into something, Althea."
"I made it into mine." She let out a breath, then briskly rubbed the tears from her cheeks. "I don't like to dwell on before, Colt."
"But it's there."
"It's there," she agreed. "Trying to make it go away only brings it closer to the surface. I learned that, too. Once you accept it's simply a part of what makes you what you are, it doesn't become as vital. It didn't make me hate men, it didn't make me hate myself. It did make me understand what it is to be a victim."

What It's Like to Reclaim Your Sex Life After Sexual Assault

That focus on a better future, many survivors say, is part of what helps them form bonds with potential partners with whom they can have healthy relationships—and repair their relationships with themselves. “There is hope,” says Lindsay. “The physical pain, the emotional pain—all that stuff is passing clouds. Joy is the sky. It’s always there.”

He plunged his hand into her hair, got a good grip to jerk her face up to his. “Pay up,” he
demanded, then closed his mouth over hers.
There it was, she thought, outrageously grateful. There was the instant thrill, the response,
the need. It had taken nothing from her. His body moved wet and hard
against hers, his mouth took from hers, and there was nothing, nothing but pleasure.
“Touch me.” She demanded it, using her teeth, her nails. Nothing fragile here,
nothing damaged or in need of tending. Touch me, she thought, take me.
Make me feel utterly, utterly human.

Valentine’s Day Wedding?

"Valentine's Day."
"What?"
There was something wonderful about watching her big blue eyes go blank.
"February fourteenth." Inspired now, he grabbed her hand, kissed it. "Marry me, Malory. Be my valentine."

"Valentine's Day."
Everything inside Malory melted.
"Oh, that's so perfect. That's so beautiful. Yes!"
She scooted around in her chair to throw her arms around his neck.
"And you'll never have any excuse to forget our anniversary."
"Always a catch."

Should You Have a Valentine’s Day Wedding?

Valentine’s Day is one of the most romantic days of the year. It only makes sense to make it your official wedding date!

However, just like with any holiday wedding there are some serious caveats to a Valentine’s Day wedding. Before you make the official decision, weigh the pros and cons.

“I need to know if you’ll marry me.”
The conversations around them stopped. For several long seconds there was no sound as he stared at her. “Okay. Now?”
“Fox.”
“Because I was thinking more like February. You know what a crappy month February is? Why
shouldn’t there be something really great to look forward to in the mostly crappy month of February?”
He took a slug of his Coke, then set it down as she stared back at him.
“Plus, it was February when I saw you for the first time. But not Valentine’s Day because, you know, complete cliché and way too traditional.”

You’re Welcome

She dipped into the bag and pulled out a gold foiled candy box. "For Mom."
"Oh." Rachel's eyes took on the glow a woman's get when she looks at a lover—or a five-pound box of exclusive chocolates. "I think you just became my best friend."
Chuckling, Bess dug into the bags again. "Well, I know that people tend to drop by with baby gifts." She held out a box wrapped in snowy white with bright red lollipops scattered over it. "And, though I couldn't resist the tradition, I figured you deserved something really
sinful for yourself."
"I do."

Gage considered a minute. “You guys are idiots. The appropriate Glad You Didn’t Die token is a hooker and a bottle of Jack.”

“We couldn’t find a hooker.” Fox shrugged. “Our time was limited.”

“You could give him an IOU,” Layla suggested.

Gage grinned at her. “All markers cheerfully accepted.”

Grilling mistakes and how to avoid them

"A monumental moment. I am passing the sacred tongs and spatula to you."
"Wait a minute, wait a minute." Ally elbowed her brother aside. "Why can't I do it?"
"Ah." Boyd held a hand to his heart. "How many times have I heard you say those very words in our long and exciting life together?"
Amused and fascinated by the family dynamics, Jonah watched mutiny settle over Ally's face. "Well, why can't I?"
"Allison, my treasure, there are some things a man must pass to his son. Son." Boyd laid a hand on Bryant's shoulder. "I'm trusting you with the Fletcher reputation. Don't let me down."
"Dad." Bryant wiped an imaginary tear from his eye. "I'm overwhelmed. Honored. I swear to uphold the family name, no matter what the cost."
"Take these." Boyd held out the barbecue tools. "Today, you are a man."

Cooking is still a science, even when you're doing it outdoors. Despite what your dad might have taught you, grilling is more about patience and planning than poking and prodding. Make a single error, and your burgers could turn out tough and bitter, your chicken rare and unappetizing.
Luckily, these errors are easy to avoid.

“Quite a view,” Quinn added, nodding toward the men at the grill.
“Camera worthy.”
“Excellent idea. Be right back.”
“Where’s she going?” Layla asked.
“I have no idea. Just as I have no idea why it apparently takes three grown men to cook some hamburgers.”
“One to cook, one to kibitz, and one to insult the other two.”
“Ah. Another mystery solved.”

"I See Fire"

Cal held his arm out. Fox, then Gage pressed their scored wrists down to his. “

Brothers in spirit, in mind. Brothers in blood for all time.”

As they stood, clouds shivered over the fat moon, misted over the bright stars. Their mixed blood
dripped and fell onto the burnt ground.

The wind exploded with a voice like a raging scream. The little campfire spewed up flame in a
spearing tower. The three of them were lifted off their feet as if a hand gripped them, tossed them.
Light burst as if the stars had shattered.

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together

Watch the flames climb high into the night

At the farm, Brian held his wife’s hand as hundreds of people stood in his fields staring at the sky. “Jesus, Jo, Jesus. The woods are on fire. Hawkins Woods.”
“It’s not fire. Not just fire,” she said as her throat throbbed. “It’s . . . something else.”

At the Pagan Stone, the rain turned to fire, and the fire turned to light. Those sparks of light struck the black to sizzle, to smoke. Its eyes began to wheel now, not in hunger or pleasure, but in shock, in pain, and in fury.

“He’s doing it,” Cybil murmured. “He’s killing it.” Even through her grief, she felt stunning pride. “Hold on to him. We have to hold on to him. We can bring him back.”

regrets

“If you knew you had a week or two to live, what would you do?”
She started to speak, stopped, and Gage understood she’d smothered her instinctive response—for his sake. Instead, she smiled. “How am I feeling?”
“Good.”
“In that case, I’d do exactly as I pleased, particularly if it was something I’d normally deny myself or hesitate over. I’d grab everything I wanted, needed. I’d make sure the people who annoyed me knew just what I thought. And more important, that everyone I loved knew how much they meant to me.”

Common regrets of the dying

Lil chalcedonicum 01EB Griechenland Hrisomiglia 17 07 01

At the end of our days, each and every one of us will be forced to stop and face up to the life we have lived. In this moment of reflection, many will ask, "Is there anything I would do differently?"

This question is the subject of The Top Five Regrets of Dying by Australian palliative care nurse and singer, Bronnie Ware.

It shares Ware's experience of being with people as they prepared to die. "People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality,"

celebrate your big day as if it's your last...

“I burned his birthday cake completely forgot about it, never heard the timer. Might’ve burned the house down if Cal himself hadn’t smelled the burning. So he never got his ice planet or his ten candles. I hate remembering that. I burned his cake and he never got to blow out his birthday candles. Isn’t that silly?”
“No, ma’am. No,” Quinn said with feeling when Frannie looked at her, “It’s not.”

A study of 2.4 million people suggests the chance of dying is higher on your birthday

Birthdays are a time for celebration. But, in truth, after a certain age few people greet yet another birthday with unconfined joy.

According to scientists, the flatness we feel at the passing of another year is the least of our problems. It emerges that we are 14 per cent more likely to die on our birthday, according to new research based on a study of more than two million people.

bring him home

“I wouldn’t have gotten through without you and Frannie.”
“I think you’re wrong about that. But we damn sure helped.” She laughed now
She started out, turned. “I pray for you. Being me, I cover my bases. God, the Goddess, Buddha, Allah, and so on. I pretty much tap on them all. I just want you to know that a day doesn’t go by that I don’t have all of you in my prayers. I’m nagging the hell out of every higher power there is.
